A popular pub in Sheffield has announced that it will not be re-opening to the public after the coronavirus lockdown.

Owners of the Black Bull in Ecclesfield said that they made the decision after a "long hard think".

Customers have been left disappointed after the pub, in Church Street, made the shock announcement on its Facebook page to let loyal punters know.

In the post it said: "After a long hard think we regret to inform you that the Black Bull won't be reopening.

"We would like to thank all our customers for making myself and Karl welcome.

"We have enjoyed working here and getting to know you all.

"Hope you all keep safe love Carol and Karl."

One customer commented below the post to say: "A real shame. All the best for the future."

It is thought now the pub will not reopen the doors until someone else takes on the lease.
