In David and Goliath fashion Huddersfield Railway Station has slain the much bigger stations of Leeds and Manchester to reach the World Cup of Stations final.

Its grade I listed frontage and two independent pubs no doubt helped Huddersfield beat the bigger, more modern Leeds Station . Huddersfield also beat the grand, historic York Station and Sheffield Station in the Yorkshire heat.

And it probably helped Huddersfield Station knock out Manchester Piccadilly, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Glasgow Central in the semi-finals.

But we reckon a certain Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat had more than a hand in propelling Huddersfield to the final which talks place today.
