Roads could be closed for hours

Megan Abbs was walking to work along WaKefield Road when she was stopped by police at the junction where the crash happened. All four directions are closed at the junction and police on the ground told Megan it could stay that way for hours.

“All the roads are closed. Rowley lane at the top, the one across from it and where the crash is.

“It’s a BMW and a motor bike and the police said it could be closed for hours.

“It’s all taped off with police tape and police cars are there. They won’t even let people walk past, I walk up that way to work so I can’t go in it must be bad.”

Megan added that queues were being made worse by drivers attempting to do U-turns in Wakefield Road.

“Queuing towards the crash however people are turning around so the traffic is getting congested down to the Fenay Bridge/Chimney lane roundabout

“I can’t say for the other side of the crash as I couldn’t get through but I can imagine it’s quite bad as the road is usually really busy on a morning.”
