Huddersfield Town have a spectacular start to their 2019-20 Championship season at home to Derby County - and it's live on Sky on Monday, August 5.

Frank Lampard's side - beaten in the play-off final by Aston Villa only three  weeks ago - visit the John Smith's Stadium (7.45pm kick-off) in a massive but tantalising test for Jan Siewert's relegated troops.

Derby have former Town players Duane Holmes, Scott Malone and loan man Richard Keogh in their line-up and provide the Terriers with a Championship kick-off to savour in front of the TV nation.

Town are away to QPR in their second fixture on Saturday, August 10, and follow that with relegated Fulham at home and Cardiff City away.

The West Yorkshire derby matches against Leeds United are at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday, December 7, and at Elland Road on Saturday, March 7.

Town are at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, September 14 - all five Yorkshire opponents visit the John Smith's first before playing Town on their own home grounds.

For the festive fixtures, Town travel to Middlesbrough on Boxing Day, entertain Blackburn Rovers at home on Sunday December 29 and then are at home again to Stoke City on New Year's Day.

This season, Town return to playing two matches over Easter, which doesn't happen in the Premier League.

On Good Friday, April 10, Town are on the road to Reading for a 3pm kick-off while on Easter Monday (April 13) they are at home to Luton Town, again with a 3pm kick-off.

Town's run-in is a corker, too, with Sheffield Wednesday away on April 18, West Brom at home on April 25 and Millwall away to finish the season, with a 12.30 kick-off on Saturday, May 2.

Derby County manager Frank Lampard brings his side to the John Smith's for the first game of the season

Siewert and his squad will find out tonight (7pm) who they have drawn in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
