The Chase: Bradley Walsh SHAMES Jenny Ryan after player embarrassingly outshines chaser

THE CHASE continued this evening with another thrilling episode of the popular ITV quiz show, fronted by lively TV presenter and quiz host Bradley Walsh.

The Chase: Intelligent contestant Janet outshines the chaser

However, host wasn’t taking any prisoners today after the first player exceeded all expectations.

Janet, a 58-year-old former IT project manager who is between jobs but looking to retire, stunned The Chase quizmaster Jenny Ryan and viewers alike.

The Hertfordshire-based player brought back a whopping £40,000 to the final chase.

One particular question got the rest of the team talking.

Bradley asked: “Which of these historic battles took place most recently? Balaclava, Bannockburn or Bosworth.”

Both the chaser and Janet chose the correct answer of Balaclava.

Jenny then explained: “Balaclava was… it was in the Crimean war so we’re talking the mid nineteenth century.

The Vixen added: “Bosworth was 1485.

“It was the last significant battle of the war of the roses.”

Bradley then replied: “Right, thank you very much. Bannockburn?”

Revealing that she wasn’t sure, Jenny said: “Now you’re asking! I’m not good at the specific year.”

Unimpressed, Bradley turned to contestant Will, a 37-year-old postman from Wigtownshire, for an answer.

He asked: “Will? Bannockburn?” with will showing off his quizzing knowledge, replying: “1314!”

Bradley was not impressed that Will had outshone Jenny.

He quipped: “Oh come on! See! Ssh. Knew he was going to get it!”

Jenny laughed it off, smiling: “Lunchtime, quarter past one.”

Bradley added: “Come on, well played Will!”
