Alan Brazil tells story about Steve Nicol signing for Liverpool
Nicol won four league titles, three FA Cups and one European Cup during his time at Liverpool.
However, if it was not for Brazil, the defender may never have donned the famous red.
talkSPORT host Brazil has revealed that when the duo were on international duty with the Scotland under-21s, he lied about how much he earned at Ipswich.
And he claims that is the reason Nicol asked to leave Scottish side Ayr United, joining Liverpool in 1981.
It wasn’t too long before he asked for a move. But I did him a favour, he got a move to Liverpool

“I remember the great Stevie Nicol, Liverpool, he was at Ayr United,” Brazil said.
“I think it was with the under-21s, it wasn’t the main squad.
“And I’ll never forget we had a cracking result in Belgium. It was a cracking result in Belgium, we played really well, we played them off the park.
“We were having a few cans of lager after the game and he got a big cigar out.
