The equipment, weighing between two and six tons, was taken from a demolition site at Packington Hall, in Tamworth Road, Lichfield, between 5.30pm on March 5 and 6.30am on March 6.

The vehicle made off towards Lichfield, down the A51 past Whittington Barracks.

One item was left behind at the demolition site.

Detectives in Staffordshire are looking for anyone who has come across plant equipment with the same serial number as the one left behind.
