The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital today, a Staffordshire Police spokesman confirmed.

Brian Atkinson, 40, of Parker Street, Walsall, and Carol Davies, 38, of Yew Tree Road, Shelfield, Walsall, have both been charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

All three will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning.

A 33-year-old woman and a 18-year-old man, both from Walsall, have been bailed until March 28, in connection with the incident. A 59-year-old woman, from Walsall, has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
