The Pendulum pub had its licence revoked for flouting the rules.

The Pendulum, on Blaydon Road, was handed a notice to close pending a full review after being caught by police last month.

Now council chiefs have branded it "totally unacceptable" and revoked the Pendeford pub's licence – meaning it will no longer be able to trade.

Councillor Alan Bolshaw, chair of the city's licensing sub-committee, said: "The council urges businesses to continue to adhere to the social distancing measures in place to protect the public.

More Covid-19 coverage:

"Having carefully considered all the evidence presented today the committee were emphatic that the behaviour displayed by this premises was totally unacceptable.

"Therefore, the decision was taken to revoke the premises licence."

The decision was made at a meeting of Wolverhampton Council's statutory licensing sub-committee.
