Drivers in Wolverhampton are facing yet more disruption on a major route when part of it closes for a week.

Compton Road West will be closed in both directions between its junctions with Alpine Way and Ashfield Road between February 16 and February 24.

Gas firm Cadent will be replacing mains under the road.

It means motorists heading towards the city centre will be forced to take lengthy diversions along Henwood Road and Tettenhall Road.

Three-way temporary traffic lights near the junction with Finchfield Hill have already been causing delays on Compton Road.
