Earned a recall and responded with a solid performance. Won seven headers, more than double any of his team mates. Produced a couple of rousing challenges in the opposition half and could have got himself on the scoresheet but didn't quite connect with his header. 7/10

Conor Coady

A peripheral figure for most of the match, may as well have played in midfield. Pass accuracy of 93 per cent. 6/10

Willy Boly

A couple of good interceptions and he began to push forward adventurously in the second half, sending a header over the bar and then slashing a long-range shot wide. Very solid throughout. 7/10

Matt Doherty

Ventured forward relentlessly, given he had little defensive work to do, but either he wasn't picked out in a good position, or his final ball wasn't quite there. Had a decent second half chance when he headed goalwards but it was cleared just ahead of the goal-line. 6/10

Morgan Gibbs-White

One of Wolves' best players in the first half when he was positive, inventive and always looking to get on the ball. Produced some really nice touches, got his head up and tried to play in his team-mates, especially Jota. Faded after the break. 7/10

Ruben Neves

Sat too deep again. Someone needs to play that role in front of the back three/five but Neves's passing range is wasted in that role. Pinged a nice few long balls and he rarely conceded possession, but couldn't do enough to pierce the Brighton back line. 6/10

Joao Moutinho

The best player on the pitch. Constantly looked to get on the ball and make things happen. A pass accuracy of 95 per cent and he was Wolves' most likely route to goal, especially via his teasing set pieces which led to the majority of Wolves' chances. Controlled the midfield. Surely player of the season? His consistency is metronomic. 8/10

Jonny Castro Otto

Effort and endeavour, but a lack of quality. His touches were heavy and he gave the ball away too often. Replaced by Vinagre in the second half. 5/10

Raul Jimenez

His best sniff of goal came when he crashed a half volley over the bar from 15 yards. Teed his team-mates up on a couple of occasions and was a lively figure in the box, but in general this wasn't his day. Pretty lethargic 5/10

Diogo Jota

Couldn't have come closer to scoring, hitting both the bar and the post in the first and second halves respectively. Drove a decent effort just wide and constantly carried a threat. 7/10

A sprightly cameo from the Portuguese whipper-snapper who did exactly what was required – ran at the defence, stretched the play and got to the byline. Should have started. 7/10

Leander Dendoncker (for Gibbs-White, 73)

Almost scored with his first touch but was denied from point blank range by an excellent Mat Ryan save. 6/10

Adama Traore (for Doherty, 83)

Like Traore, he ran at Brighton's defenders and looked to swing the ball over, which he did on a couple of occasions. Seven minutes wasn't long enough. N/A
