A MAN who falsely led a woman to believe that her dog had to be put down has appeared before Truro magistrates.

Ricky Lee Boughton, aged 37, of Marine Terrace, Penzance, admitted stalking his victim between June 30, 2018 and May 30, 2019.

The charge to which he pleaded guilty said that his conduct had a "substantial adverse effect" on her day to day activities.

Last summer he led her to believe that her dog had to be put down and sent excessive amounts of text and emails disguising his phone number.

He also made threats to circulate personal sexual videos on various platforms.

Magistrates gave credit for his guilty plea but sent the case to Truro Crown Court because they felt there was insufficient sentencing powers.

It was stated that there was a high degree of planning in his conduct and it was persistent action over a prolonged period, causing "serious distress" to the victim.

Boughton also pleaded guilty to possessing 292 grams of cannabis on May 30, 2019.

ACCESSING the internet has resulted in a suspended prison sentence for a 66 year-old man.

Stephen Patrick Byfield, of Church Street, Newlyn, was prohibited from internet use by a sexual harm prevention order made by St Albans Crown Court in May 2016.

He admitted accessing it without risk management software being installed and deleting the internet history between January 23 and March 24 of this year.

He was given a 16-week jail term, suspended for 12 months, because the offence was committed soon after release from prison.

Magistrates added that there was "deliberate failure" to inform authorities that he had acquired a computer.

He was also ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A MULLION man who drove whilst unfit through drugs has been banned from the roads.

Adam James Fletcher, aged 23, of Redannack North, admitted committing the offence at Bissoe, near Truro, on February 6, when he had more than 200 micrograms of benzoylecgonine (a cocaine derivative) per litre of blood.

He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance, a licence or test certificate.

He was disqualified for 14 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. He was also fined £120.

A TROON man has admitted two charges of possession drugs.

Daniel Kwamina Ogoe, aged 38, of Magor Avenue, committed the offences on January 24 in Camborne, when he was found with 2.03 grams of class A drug diamorphine and 0.211 grams of cannabis.

He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A TEENAGE drink driver has been disqualified for 15 months.

George James Alexander Smalley, aged 19, of Tregatreath, Mylor Bridge, admitted committing the offence on May 28 at Penryn on a blue Yamaha motorcycle.

He had 58mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was also fined £280 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

DRIVING with a dangerous windscreen has resulted in a fine for a 32 year old man.

Aleksejs Kolesnikovs, aged 32, of Tolgus Wartha, Redruth, pleaded guilty to the offence and also admitted driving without insurance or test certificate on January 24.

He was fined £330 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £33 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with eight points.

EXCEEDING a a 60mph speed limit has landed a Camborne man a 28-day driving ban.

Robert John Warwick, aged 45, of Polwheal Road, Tolvaddon, committed the offence on January 25 on the A30 at Roseworthy.

He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A HELSTON man drove without insurance or test certificate, Bodmin magistrates heard.

Burhan Ali, aged 55, of Vyvyan Place, admitted committing the offences on January 17 in a Vauxhall on Penberthy Road.

He was fined £323 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

A TRURO man who exceeded a 70mph speed limit has been fined.

Timothy Roger Bowden, aged 40, of Malpas Road, admitted committing the offence on the A30 in BMW 420D at Tregullon Dip.

He was fined £280 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His driving record was endorsed with five points.

A TRURO woman who drove without a test certificate has been fined £220.

Rachel Dobson, aged 34, of Chyvelah Ope, committed the offence in Newquay on January 26.

She was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A PENRYN man exceeded a 60mph speed limit.

Ari Meryn Franklin-Morris, aged 30, of Dunvegan Road, admitted committing the offence on December 23 at Tedburn St Mary, Exeter, in a VW Transporter.

He was fined £246 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.
