A resort-style home in Honolulu, Hawaii designed and built by an award-winning television producer is on the market for $11,888,000.

Called Kekaulani which means “placed in the heavens,” the hillside home offers unmatched quality in every detail. The stone and white marble finishes were hand-selected while floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the Ko’olau mountains and valleys with the ocean expanse beyond.

Built in 2005, the 9,166-square-foot home has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and two half bathrooms. It is located on .4 acres of land.

The home was designed and built by Al Masini and his wife Charlyn Honda Masini. Al Masini, who died in 2010, was the award-winning television producer and creator of “Entertainment Tonight,” the celebrity news magazine. He was the mastermind behind several other programs including the long-running shows “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous”, “Fame”, “Solid Gold” and “Star Search”.

The home boasts many features normally found at a five-star resort including lavish entertaining areas, restorative private spaces, tropical waterfalls, biometric entry elevator (which reads algorithms of the hand and is further protected by a coded keypad for quick and secure entry) and an expansive professional-level fitness center with ocean views.

A peaceful koi pond with waterfall feature introduces the front entry, a welcoming semicircle of glass beneath a marble and pillared portico. A custom medallion of jewelry-grade lapis lazuli and onyx greets visitors in the 17-foot domed marble foyer.

The entry’s geometric architectural design is replicated in the main living area, with a curved wall of glass overlooking Koko Head and the Pacific.

An open formal dining platform flows directly into the living room and enjoys the same exquisite views. The adjoining media room is appointed with a fireplace mantel of blue lapis lazuli stone and a built-in large-screen television plus a drop-down 120-inch movie screen.

The private master suite is on the second level with a master bath that is an opulent retreat, complete with chandelier, onyx floor and counter details, and oversized shower with green hillside views and an immense walk-in closet and dressing area. The soaking tub is equipped with an air-jet system for the use of bath salts and essential oils.

One of the estate’s most distinctive features is the spiral staircase that descends from the audio-visual entertainment area to the lower level. The upper landing is ringed by a Blue Bahia and Grecian Thassos marble counter to create a circular entertainment bar with seating for eight.

A four-car garage is finished in ceramic tile floors, mirrored walls, blue pearl granite counters plus storage and a workshop with half-bath.

Located at 828 Moaniala Street, the property faces east and south and is located in a gated community patrolled by around-the-clock security officers.

The home is represented by Patricia Choi of The Choi Group of Hawai’i Life Real Estate Brokers with global marketing services provided by Christie’s International Real Estate. Click here for more information.
