3 Things You Should Know - Lincoln Aviator Revel Ultima 3D Sound System

This article is more than 4 years old.

The all-new Lincoln Aviator is the most exciting vehicle from the brand since the Continental.  The Aviator will offer the most advanced sound system Lincoln has ever installed in one of its vehicles. Revel, a leading sound system manufacturer was tasked with engineering a unique system for the Aviator, with the parameters of producing a 360-degree immersion capability listening experience: not only for the driver, but optimized for every seat in the vehicle.

28 Speakers

More speakers doesn't always mean better sound, but in the case of the Revel system, it serves as the first step.  With the addition of height speakers for a 360-degree listening experience, the Aviator cabin is transformed into what seems like a concert hall for the road. When the engineers at Revel were designing this new Ultima 3D system, they had an Aviator model on-site, allowing them to customize and analyze speaker placements for Aviator in real time and in person to create an intimate and personalized listening experience from all around.

Clari-Fi Technology

The Revel sound system uses the latest and greatest in technology and software to better articulate sound.  Through the use of Clari-Fi, a patented HARMAN technology that works in real-time to rebuild audio details lost in digitally compressed music, the sound system reconstructs the audio files from the ground up for an enhanced listening experience regardless of source.

Exterior Noise Dampening

Lincoln didn't just throw a great sound system into the Aviator and call it a day.  The engineers were sure to include an abundance of interior and exterior noise control strategies to minimize unwanted distractions.  The use of an acoustic laminated windshield and side glass, as well as acoustic underbody shields, wheel arch liners, and a dual-wall dash system all provide an additional barrier and air gap between passengers and the engine compartment, just that little extra separation to keep vibrations and noise out of the cabin.

Final Thoughts

Lincoln engineers are pulling out all the tricks they can think of in the all-new Aviator.  Consumers should know that the brand plans on operating as a real player in the Luxury market, and not just another brand Ford happens to own.  This Revel 3D sound system is just another way Lincoln is saying they're back and ready to play with the Germans.
