Alaska Airlines was just named the #1 traditional airline in terms of customer satisfaction in the new J.D. Power 2019 North America Airline Satisfaction Study. In a sense, this win isn't news for Alaska, as the 2019 results mark the 12th straight year the airline has taken first place in the customer satisfaction survey from the prestigious rating organization.
Nonetheless, Alaska Air apparently hasn't grown tired of so much winning
The airline sent out "THANKS A DOZEN" tweets and emails to its Mileage Plus members. The note thanked Alaska's customers and acknowledged its "incredible " 22,000 employees for their work, which was recognized by J.D. Power for the 12th year in a row.
Alaska Air also offered customers a more concrete benefit: Premium Class upgrades starting at $12 today (May 29, 2019) in West Coast markets.
These include "select" flights out of Anchorage (ANC), Juneau (JNU) and Everett – Paine Field (PAE) to San Francisco (SFO), San Jose (SJC), Portland (PDX), or Los Angeles (LAX). Other possibilities for upgrades include Las Vegas (LAS) to Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX) and Everett – Paine Field (PAE), Las Vegas (LAS), Salt Lake City (SLC), San Jose (SJC), Santa Rosa (STS), San Francisco (SFO), or Seattle (SEA), and flights into and out of Portland (PDX), San Diego (SAN) San Francisco (SFO) San Jose (SJC) and Seattle (SEA).
The full list of destinations for possible $12 and up upgrades is here, as is (sigh) the list of terms and conditions. For example, Premium Class upgrade must be purchased by 11:59 pm (PST) on May 29, 2019. The upgrades are valid on flights departing Monday through Thursday and Saturday from August 20, 2019 through November 13, 2019; not valid for flights departing on Fridays or Sundays. All qualifying flights must be marketed and operated by Alaska Airline; the deal is not valid on code-share flights.
Most importantly, if you're planning to fly Alaska out of the West Coast from August to November and you're interested in a possible upgrade, you've go to act today. Because like Cinderella's magic, the deal ends at midnight.
