DOVER — Jurors will resume deliberations Thursday in the trial of a Dover man accused of sexually assaulting a woman and threatening to cut off her head.

According to Deputy County Attorney Tim Sullivan, the jury didn’t reach a verdict Wednesday after deliberating all day whether Korey S. Dean, 26, was guilty of kidnapping, aggravated felonious sexual assault, first-degree assault and three counts of criminal threatening.

Dean’s trial ran three full days. Jurors heard the prosecution argue Dean confined and sexually assaulted a woman on Oct. 27, 2015. Dean is accused of threatening the woman with a knife during the assault, allegedly telling her he would cut off her tattoo and her head, according to his indictments.

The defense argued Dean’s actions were part of various consensual sexual acts.

Deliberations are scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. Thursday.

If convicted of the six felonies levied against him, Dean could face up to 63 years in state prison and up to $20,000 in fines.
