Has wisdom flown the coop in Dover?

June 1 -- To the Editor:

It seems that parking spaces, or the lack thereof, concern just about everybody these days, and rightly so. With the construction (in Dover) of several very large new structures, parking is on all our minds. Perhaps the hiring of an expert should have occurred before, rather than after all this construction. To be honest, I don't think people have much confidence in city hall these days.

Now the old courthouse will be knocked down to make way for an enormous 6-story building. Some parking is planned and more parking is to be supplied by a take-over of 70 spaces in the Chestnut Street garage. Is that solution or problem?

We all have to live with the results of the planning board decisions. Just go look at the size of what's being built at Chestnut and Washington and think about it. Has all wisdom flown the coop?
