Leadership in Washington, D.C. is sorely lacking

When I think of individuals in positions such as selectman, mayor, members of state legislatures, governor, congress, the cabinet, or president I always ask myself - are they a leader?

Are they honest? Do they have integrity?

Are they truthful with themselves, and with others?

Do they steadfastly adhere to a strict moral or ethical code?

Do they work well with, feel empathy for, and respect others?

Are they a good communicator?

Are they capable of planning, and making well qualified decisions based on facts? Can they envision the effects of, or results of their decisions whether positive or negative? Are their decisions designed to help others, make our lives better, improve the environment, move in a positive direction?

Are they accountable for their actions?

Do they delegate, and empower others?

Are they creative, and are they willing to accept innovative ideas of their own, and others?

Do they look for good in others?

When I Iook at our so called leaders in DC I see few to none of these traits in any branch of our government certainly none in the executive branch.
