DOVER — “Forward Together: Building Beloved Community in These Times” is the theme of this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration event. It is being held from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in the Garrison Auditorium.

Refreshments and fellowship will follow the event, which is open to the public. No registration is required. Maggie Fogarty, AFSC-NH co-director, will be the featured speaker. The Dover High School chorus, under the direction of Jim Butka, will perform. Readings will recall the legacy of Dr. King and civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks, and will encourage reflection on issues facing society today.

The event has been sponsored for more than 30 years by the Dover Area Religious Leaders Association.
