DOVER - Strafford County Cold Weather Shelter seeks volunteers to assist at the Warming Center at St. George Maronite Church in Dover for the Tuesday and Wednesday overnight shifts.

The open shifts would run from Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5:30 p.m. until Wednesday, Jan. 22, 9 a.m.; and Wednesday, Jan. 22, 5:30 p.m. until Thursday, Jan 23, at 9 a.m. St. George’s is located at 15 Chapel Street in Dover and The Warming Center entrance is located on the Mechanic Street side of the church.

A minimum of three volunteers are requested for each shift to support the community partner in their service to our at-risk neighbors. Warming Center training is not required to volunteer and trained staff will be on site to orient all volunteers.

Interested volunteers are encouraged to take a two-hour online crowd management course, https://www.crowdmanagers.com/training, for under $20 to support the site's requirement to have a fire watch or crowd management trained volunteer on site at all times.

If you are able to sign up for a shift, please bring your own snacks, water, a book, etc., and leave valuables at home or in your vehicle as storage space is limited for staff belongings.
