Dover woman charged with stabbing at her home

Briana Buonopane, 28, of 4 Sylvan Drive, Dover, was arrested at her home on Friday, July 10 when police responded to a report of a stabbing at her home and charged with domestic violence, a Class B felony.

DOVER — A Dover woman was arrested Friday on a charge of domestic violence after a stabbing at her home.

Briana A. Buonopane, 28, of 4 Sylvan Drive, Dover, was arrested early on the morning of July 10 and charged with domestic violence, a Class B felony.

On Friday at about 7 a.m., Dover Police responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance during which a person could be heard stating he had been stabbed.

Upon arrival at the residence at 4 Sylvan Drive in Dover, officers met a man with a stab wound to his right arm. The man said Buonopane, his girlfriend, attacked him during a custody dispute over a child.

According to police, the man said Buonopane struck him in the face, pushed him against a wall, and then stabbed him in the right arm with a knife.

Officers recovered a knife in the kitchen sink that appeared to have blood on it, police said.

Buonopane was released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment at the Strafford County Superior Court July 30 at 12:30 p.m.
