HONOR ROLL

BOYS

Aaron Bono, soph., F, Somersworth/Coe-Brown

Bono scored twice as the Bearcats (2-3-1) took a 4-2 lead over Goffstown, which should be a contender for this year’s D-II state title. The Grizzlies rallied in the third period for a 7-4 win.

Brendan Doyle, sr., F, Exeter

One of the state’s top scorers is heating up. Doyle posted three goals and two assists in Exeter’s road win over Hanover. He added two more goals Saturday as Exeter (3-1-2) rallied for a 5-5 tie with Salem.

Britton Dunbar, fr., G, St. Thomas

About three weeks after the Saints were blitzed by Oyster River, 8-1, on home ice, the Saints got some payback with a 3-0 win at the Whitt last week. Dunbar earned the shutout with 23 saves.

Luke Suhesky, soph., F, Portsmouth/Newmarket

The ClipperMules collected their third win in four games, 4-0, over Alvirne/Milford on Saturday. Suhesky scored two goals to help his team improve to 3-2 in Division II.

GIRLS

Memphis Brown, soph., F, St. Thomas/Winnacunnet/Dover

Brown netted a pair of goals in her team’s rout of ConVal/Conant last week and has been among the key contributors in the Saints’ 5-1 start in Division I.

Sophia Santamaria, sr., F, York/Marshwood/Traip

Santamaria’s two goals helped the Wildcats post a 5-0 win over Biddeford and improve to 5-9 in Southern Maine. York has now won two straight.

Kelly Zhang, fr., F, Oyster River/Portsmouth

Zhang tallied a hat trick for the ClipperCats in their 5-2 win over Bishop Guertin on Saturday. OR/Portsmouth put the brakes on a two-game skid in that one.

GAMES TO WATCH

BOYS

Spaulding at Dover, Saturday, 5:30 p.m.

The Red Raiders find themselves in a tough spot entering the first of this year’s two rivalry games with Dover. They entered Wednesday’s slate last in the Division II standings at 0-7. The Green Wave (5-1), meanwhile, should come out hot after losing their first of the season over the weekend against Goffstown. This one will be played at Dover Arena.

Oyster River at Portsmouth/Newmarket, Monday, 10:45 a.m.

This should be a good one on Martin Luther King Day morning. The ClipperMules entered Wednesday’s slate at 3-2-0, and Oyster River entered at 3-2-1. Portsmouth/Newmarket is still looking for its first win against a league contender. This game at Dover Arena represents that chance.

St. Thomas at Dover, Monday, 1 p.m.

The latest chapter in this Garrison City rivalry features a rematch of last year’s Division II state championship game. St. Thomas celebrated a 5-3 win in that one, but Dover’s been the more consistent team in 2019-20, sitting second right now in the D-II standings.

GIRLS

St. Thomas/Winnacunnet/Dover at Oyster River/Portsmouth, Monday, 10:45 a.m.

These two local teams should meet on the big ice sheet at the Whittemore Center with winning records. St. Thomas/Winnacunnet/Dover has gotten off to a strong start. The ClipperCats should pose a nice challenge with their young, up-and-coming lineup.
