LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A new campaign to fight childhood hunger is kicking off in Little Rock.

It’s called the “Be Mighty Campaign”, which is designed to connect kids with free meals during the summertime and after school.

In Little Rock, about one-in-four kids are food insecure.

The director of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance says one of the problems they had in the past with feeding programs is there weren’t enough sites.

“The ‘Be Mighty Campaign’ will both increase the number of sites that are available, and we will really work on getting the message out to families so that kids know where those sites are and how to access those meals,” says Kathy Webb, the Executive Director of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.

Little Rock is one of six cities nationally to get a grant awarded for the program.
