Update:

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock Police released information today regarding the officer involved shooting that happened Monday around 3:00 p.m.

The subject who was injured during the shooting has been identified as 39-year-old Anthony Ashby of Little Rock.

During the investigation police found out that Ashby had been a convicted felon at the time of the incident. Upon learning this information, Detectives with NLRPD filed a Federal Criminal Complaint with Federal Law Enforcement partners at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). The ATF has since charged Ashby with Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Ashby is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility for the aforementioned federal charge. The ATF will be conducting an investigation for the federal charge that has been filed against Ashby.

Detectives with the NLRPD are still investigating the shooting incident.

Anyone with information regarding the federal investigation by the ATF should be made with the ATF Office.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – One person has been reported shot in an officer-involved shooting in North Little Rock.

The North Little Rock Police Department (NLRPD) says that it happened Monday afternoon at 2800 East Broadway at the Broadway Motel around 3:00 p.m.

Police say that a undercover investigator with NLRPD had been in the area conducting an investigation when he was approached by a black male subject who produced a handgun and was subsequently shot by the officer.

The suspect was struck, and has received medical treatment for his injuries.

The suspects condition is non-life threatening.

The officer involved in the shooting is on Administrative leave as per Departmental Policy. The involved officer did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

This investigation is active and on-going.
