LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Department of Human Services decked out the State Capitol in blue Thursday in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The rally brought many together in the Capitol Rotunda to signify we all play a role in making great childhoods happen.

There are thousands of children in foster care in the Natural State due to neglect— or physical or sexual abuse.

The governor and the first lady were there to support them.

“We’re all keeping our eyes on the goal, and the goal is to keep our children as safe and as well and as protected as humanly possible,” says Susan Hutchinson, First Lady of Arkansas.

The event is one of many across the state this month to raise awareness.
