LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two men have escaped safely when a home went up in flames near the city’s downtown area.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 9:30 a.m. Friday in the 1800 block of Daisy Bates Drive.

Photos from our crew on the scene show fire pouring from an upper window of the frame house, smoke rolling from the front porch area and black scorch marks around other windows.

Fire officials tell us four people lived in the home but only the two who escaped without injury were there at the time.

The fire’s cause is under investigation.
