Iggy's Eggies opens in Capitol Park

Iggy’s Eggies, a walk-up window with an affordable breakfast menu, is now open in Capitol Park. It will serve breakfast from 8-11 a.m. weekdays.

Iggy's Eggies was developed by restaurateur Eli Boyer and chefs Jennifer Jackson and Justin Tootla, the team behind Voyager in Ferndale and the Lover’s Only burger joint, also in Capitol Park and located next door.

Patrons can customize breakfast sandwiches pairing a choice bread (English Muffin, brioche or house-made biscuits) with egg, cheeses and breakfast sausage from Ferndale's Farm Field Table. Sandwiches are $3.50-$6.

There will also be rotating monthly specials. This month it’s Lovers Only’s Bodega featuring a griddled Sy Ginsberg bologna, fried egg, white cheddar, mayo and mustard for $7. Two side dishes are available: hash browns ($3) and house made yogurt and granola ($6). Drinks are a 12-ounce coffee ($2) and fresh squeezed orange juice ($3).

Ordering through GrubHub and Uber Eats as well catering options are expected to be offered in the 2019.

The restaurant had a soft opening on Monday and is celebrating its grand opening on Thursday.

Iggy's Eggies is at 34 W. Grand River Ave., Detroit. More info at its Facebook page.
