Dan Gilbert is the founder of Detroit-based Quicken Loans.

Detroit businessman Dan Gilbert returned to Michigan late last week to continue his rehabilitation after a May 26 stroke, according to a statement Tuesday by Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner.

It was widely reported that Gilbert, 57, traveled to a rehabilitation center in Chicago earlier this summer.

"We are extremely thankful for all of the skilled medical professionals who have played a significant role in Dan’s recovery and are glad to have him back home," Farner said. "While Dan focuses his energy on the rehabilitation process, our teams across the family of companies will continue to execute at a high level, serving and supporting our clients and team members."
