Authorities arrested 12 non-compliant sex offenders during a two-day sweep of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties last week, according to Michigan State Police.

MSP said their Sex Offender Enforcement Unit and Second District Fugitive Team was joined by the U.S. Marshals Service for what was dubbed, "Operation Final Countdown."

According to a news release, four teams targeted 26 registered sex offenders who were in violation of the Michigan Sex Offenders Registration Act (SORA) and had felony warrants out for their arrest.

After two days,  teams located and arrested 12 individuals — one was found in an out-of-state treatment facility. All were arraigned.

The Public Sex Offender Registry is available online and can be found at http://www.mipsor.state.mi.us.
