Man shot at Detroit candlelight vigil for another shooting victim

A 24-year-old man was shot overnight on Detroit's east side while at a candlelight vigil for another shooting victim, police report. 

Detroit Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at 2:05 a.m. June 8 in the 11000 block of Payton Street.

Witnesses there told police that someone in the crowd at the vigil had fired several shots, according to an email from police. One victim was shot in the leg and transported to a hospital, police say. His condition is stable. 

Police report they do not currently have a suspect in the shooting.
