15-year-old on minibike dies after being hit by out-of-control car in Detroit

A 15-year-old boy was killed while riding a minibike outside his home when an out-of-control car struck him on Wednesday night, according to a report by WDIV-TV (Channel 4)

According to a witness, the driver of a white Chevrolet Impala was speeding and ran a stop sign before losing control.

The 24-year-old driver struck the victim and crashed into the porch of the teen's home near East Robinwood and Helen Street in Detroit just after 7 p.m. He was arrested on the scene, according to WDIV.

Police said that the witness may have seen other cars involved. They hope to obtain video from a nearby home security camera.

Details are unclear on the driver’s condition.
