A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition and another man is dead after the sale of a video game took a violent turn, according to Detroit Police.

Detroit Police spokeswoman Holly Lance said the incident happened at 7:10 p.m. near the boy’s home in the 2400 block of Honorah on the city's southwest side.

Here's what happened, according to police:

The teen had arranged a meet-up with the suspect to sell a video game, but the deal went wrong when the suspect pulled a gun out and shot the teen in the face. The father, watching from the house, rushed outside and started fighting the suspect. The father then shot the suspect dead.

Police investigators recovered two weapons from the scene.

The 36-year-old father is in custody and the son was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition, Lance said.
