A 24-year-old man is hospitalized in critical condition after being attacked by two men Friday night on Detroit's west side, Detroit police said.

The man and his 26-year-old sister were walking in the area of Plainview Street and West Warren Avenue around 11:15 p.m. when a red Dodge truck pulled up alongside them.

One of the men in the truck asked the sister if she was a prostitute. The brother said she wasn't. The two men reportedly then jumped out of the vehicle and started kicking, beating and stomping the brother until he was unconscious.

Afterwards, the attackers drove off in the truck.

The victim suffered multiple cuts to his face and head and was taken to a hospital.

Police said the first attacker is 5-foot-5, while the second one is 5-foot-10 and had a ponytail.

An investigation is ongoing.
