A 30-year-old suspect has been arrested after a police standoff this morning on Detroit's west side after a man barricaded himself inside a house with a gun, according to WWJ-AM (950).

Police told WWJ it was a domestic situation with the man's girlfriend. They reportedly got into an argument and she called the police around 4 a.m. after he shot her.

When police arrived, the suspect fled and barricaded himself inside a house across the street. Police say it is not clear whose house it was or if there were other people inside.

Police set up a perimeter around the house and called for reinforcements. Negotiators tried to talk to the man, WWJ said. It was unsuccessful.

According to WWJ, officers were finally able to go inside the home after they deployed tear gas inside, took down the front door and the suspect surrendered at around 7:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Charges are pending for the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
