Man injured in Easter Sunday shooting in Detroit

A 23-year-old man was wounded during a shooting  in the area of Parkhurst and Woodward on Easter Sunday, according to a Detroit police preliminary report. 

Around 2:16 a.m., police said, a gunman told the 23-year-old man he still owed him money, but when the victim tried to walk away, he was shot in the calf. 

Police said the victim was transported to a hospital by medics and was listed in temporary serious condition. 

Police described the gunman as a transgender person wearing a gray shirt, scarf, yoga pants and armed with a black handgun.

The gunman and victim knew each other and partied together, the report said.
