Michigan State picked up three more 2020 football commitment hours before Monday’s dead period begins, all 3-star players from Ohio.

Angelo Grose from Mansfield, Ohio, announced his pledge Sunday afternoon. About an hour later, defensive end Chris Mayfield from Hilliard Bradley became the Spartans' 10th prospect for 2020. Then outside linebacker Devin Hightower announced just after 8 p.m. All three announced their decisions via Twitter.

Grose, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback, had committed to Cincinnati in May before backing out of that agreement June 10. He is a 3-star prospect and ranked as the No. 52 player in Ohio and 114th cornerback nationally according to 247Sports.com.

Mansfield's Angelo Grose runs with the football against Westerville North.

A two-way player for Mansfield High, Grose stuffed the stat sheet last season for the Tygers according to the Mansfield Journal News. He was 37 of 73 passing for 434 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions; caught 26 passes for 414 yards  and five scores; and he ran 85 times for 537 yards with five more TDs. On defense, Grose had 58 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions.

Mayfield had 47 tackles, including 7.5 sacks, and a forced fumble for Hilliard Bradley in 2018. The 6-2, 250-pound Mayfield is ranked the 47th-best prospect from Ohio, No. 53 at defensive end and 1,190th overall nationally per 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. He chose the Spartans over Purdue, Cincinnati, Boston College, Maryland, Minnesota and Kentucky among his offers.

Hightower is a 6-1, 218-pound outside linebacker from Akron Archbishop Hoban. He's the No. 707 overall prospect, No. 47 linebacker and No. 20 player in Ohio.

The three make seven players, four from Ohio, have committed to the Spartans in the last 10 days.

MSU hosted a number of recruiting targets this weekend before coaches cannot talk to players again until July 24.
