Happy Easter!

After a cold and rainy weekend, the sun is expected to peek back in as churchgoers, brunch-lovers and Easter egg hunters gear up for a warm Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the Detroit area is forecasted to have a partly sunny day with high temperatures reaching around 65 degrees. Winds are also expected to be light, moving about 3 to 5 m.p.h. from the west.

As the day turns into night, the NWS is forecasting a mostly cloudy night and a low around 44 degrees. Winds coming in from the south at about 5 m.p.h. are expected to calm by Sunday evening.

It all leads up to a an even warmer and sunnier Monday.

According to the NWS, Monday in the Detroit area is expected to be mostly sunny with a high around 72 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy Monday night with a low around 52 degrees.

There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, which is also forecasted to have a high around 68 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy night with a low around 41 degrees.

Alex Manion, a meteorologist in the NWS White Lake office said, Tuesday morning rains are expected to affect parts of Michigan. Manion said the rain is expected to move off to the east, leaving the Detroit area dry for the afternoon and evening hours.

Additionally, Manion said there's also a low probability, slight chance to see some rain showers on Thursday. However, most of the week ahead is anticipated to be warm and mostly sunny, with highs in the 60s.
