Two people were hurt Sunday evening in a chain collision on U.S. 54 at the south outer road of Interstate 70 in Callaway County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Vehicles driven by Joseph J. Pandolfo, 59, of Ballwin, and Garry B. Hodges, 56, of Auxvasse, were stopped at a red light in the eastbound lanes at 7:02 p.m. when a car driven eastbound by Kathleen M. Lea, 67, of Clayton, failed to stop behind them, causing her car to strike the rear of Hodges' minivan and pushing the minivan into the rear of Pandolfo's sports utility vehicle.

Lea and Amy Meyerkord, 39, of St. Louis, who was a passenger in Lea's car, both received minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

The patrol reports Lea was arrested on possible charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.
