Firefighters had to close a road in Bracknell to remove a roof panel  from a church that became loose in high winds.

The crew from Bracknell Fire Station were called to the Kerith Centre in Mount Lane at 9.12am on Friday, March 8.

They had to close the nearby Tytherton and use cutting equipment to safely remove the metal sheet from the church building.

Using an aerial platform which came from Basingstoke, the firefighters were able to cut the panel free and remove it safely.

After arriving at the scene, the crews made the decision to remove the panel rather than reattaching it due to safety fears over it coming loose.

It took around two hours for the crews to carry out the operation to remove the panel safely.
