* Good news! RHS Wisley issued an update to say the gardens will be open on Wednesday (March 27) following the closure on Tuesday.

RHS Wisley Garden has closed for the second time in two months because of a water main fault.

Engineers are currently on site trying to fix the problem, which is in a different location to the water main issues that caused the gardens to close on February 25.

It is not yet known when the burst water main will be fixed, but there is currently no water supply to the popular gardens.

A spokesman for RHS Wisley said: “Due to a burst water main on the A3, RHS Garden Wisley has no water supply and will unfortunately have to close today (Tuesday, March 26).

“We do not yet know when the problem will be fixed, but hope the issue will be resolved as soon as possible. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

It added that the “burst water main is in a different location” but had stopped the supply.

Affinity Water has sent a crew to the scene and traffic management has been set up.

A statement said: “Our repair team are on Portsmouth Road where the burst water main has now been located.

“We have received confirmation that the traffic management is now on site and is in the process of being set up. Once we have confirmation that it is safe to proceed a further update will be provided.

“We are sorry for the disruption to your supply and thank you for your patience.”
