A Glasgow mum was so inspired after dropping six dress sizes that she's now coaching other people to follow suit.

Carolynn Condie was "horrified" when she looked back at snaps of herself at a pal's wedding, and vowed to make a change .

Having previously slimmed down thanks to Weight Watchers (now called WW), the Ibrox native's weight had crept back up to 15 st 13 lbs following the birth of her baby daughter.

But with a newborn to look after, a busy homelife and a recent postnatal depression diagnosis to deal with, it wasn't to be an easy ride for the 35-year-old.

She said: "The new family life was amazing, and I loved being a new mum, but it also came with its pitfall of me putting all the weight back on.

"I was breastfeeding and used that as an excuse to eat anything I wanted, and I got to that point when I was finally needing a size 20 dress to attend a friend’s wedding.

"I was horrified and mortified at how I felt at the wedding, and seeing the pictures was not comfortable.

"Straight after it, I re- joined WW, and its been the best thing I have done."

Carolynn attended her local workshop and was "apprehensive and nervous" ahead of her first visit, but she soon realised she had nothing to worry about.

She said: "When I re-joined, I struggled to get my head in the right place as I was suffering with post-natal depression.

"Being a new mum and having to deal with this just made concentrating on my health really difficult, but thankfully just before Christmas things in my family life were starting to improve and WW introduced the Freestyle Plan."

The Freestyle Plan allows members to eat what they want, while teaching about portion control, and healthy options, so she soon became hooked!

Now a trim size eight, the new way of eating has also had a knock on effect on the rest of Carolynn's family too.

She said: "I now do a lot of fresh home cooking that the family love and my husband Neill has also lost weight, an amazing two stone too.

"And I’m having fun with my daughter without being embarrassed or ashamed of my size!

"I have reduced the number of times I need to use my inhaler, and I have also come off my post-natal depression medication, as my doctor is so pleased with my new outlook in life that I don’t need them.

"And I get to enjoy foods with my daughter, she sees that mummy gets to eat treats too, and I love the fact that I’m teaching her healthy habits from a young age, and hopefully she won’t have the same weight issues I had."

Carolynn and her wee family

Carolynn has also embarked on a new chapter career-wise thanks to WW.

She added: "Who could have though weight loss could change your life!

"As I was on my journey my WW coach knew I was quitting my job after maternity leave, that I needed something else to fit around my daughter, and I needed to get out of the rut I was in.

"So I applied to WW to become a coach, and I was successful in my application.

"Now I am helping others reach their goal as they help me maintain my new healthy happier lifestyle, I have so much more confidence in myself, and I’m able to wear clothes that I’ve always dreamed of.

"I love how WW has helped me in so many ways. It’s improved my mindset, my health and my confidence.

"I want to ensure that I maintain my new weight for my daughter and every one of my members."
