We all know Glasgow grans never go out of style - and they are never short on advice (whether you ask for it or not).

But this OAP has turned dishing out fashion forward advice into a profession.

Ruth McGie has been snapped up by Silverburn shopping centre to act as their first even personal shopper over 65.

Nicknamed Instagran, Ruth's  bespoke OAP service was piloted this week and saw her help customers select their outfits with a hearty dose of good, old fashioned honesty and well-earned wisdom.

The granny from Glasgow, set up shop in the Hobbs changing rooms dispensing practical, personable and stylish advice that pulled no punches.

Her best advice? Never reveal your age. After all, it's only number...and looking good never goes out of style.

And Instagran was an instant success and Ruth’s wisdom was welcomed by shoppers.

Leanne Smyth from Glasgow said: What a fantastic idea to bring Instagrans to the centre, I’ve never seen this before.

"Your mates might tell you, you look good in something – although they secretly don’t want you to upstage them – Instagran told me exactly what I wanted to hear, and I was delighted with the service.”

David Pierotti, General Manager at Silverburn said: “We are delighted to have our Instagran here in Silverburn. We all know the pressure that people face now to look good on social media so Instagran is very topical but also highly practical in helping our shoppers pick the perfect outfit.

"This service is perfect for those wannabe style influencers on social media whose outfit choice is all about ‘doing it for the gram’.”

Following the initial trial of Instagran, Silverburn will now be reviewing customer feedback with a view to potentially rolling out the service later in the year following its success.
