Welcome to the live blog for Friday. The weekend is within touching distance, Glasgow, hooray!

The roads are quieter this morning but there was an earlier breakdown on the M8 eastbound near J27 Arkleston which is causing traffic to queue from before J29 St James.

Traffic on the M8 westbound is busy through Glasgow but moving. There's no major issues on the trains, which is good news.

The Glasgow LIVE traffic and travel blog will run until 9am, providing up-to-date travel info across the greater Glasgow area. If you spot any incidents while out and about then you can reach us by emailing news@glasgowlive.co.uk, or find us over on  Facebook  or  Twitter .

Let's do this! Stay tuned, Glasgow...
