A giant puppet will make her way through Glasgow this weekend for a climate event taking place as part of this year's Celtic Connections festival.

Storm, who is the largest puppet in Scotland and has been described as a "new feat of mechanical mastery", will "rise from The Clyde" and slowly make her way to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

The procession will take place as part of the Coastal Connections: Festival in a Day event this Saturday (January 18) from 10am to noon.

Storm is made entirely from recyclable materials. The (slightly haunting) description details that she has "eyes are the colour of oyster shells, her hair thick strands of kelp, her voice the chorus of the waves".

The full Glasgow Life details read: "From the makers of Big Man Walking comes a folklore giant made-real, to kick off our Coastal Connections: Festival in a Day. Storm lives in the waters around Scotland, and in 2020 she will walk on land to share maritime stories of the sea.

"At ten metres tall, her eyes are the colour of oyster shells, her hair thick strands of kelp, her voice the chorus of the waves. Aided by eight puppeteers, Storm will visit the heart of towns and villages across the country, gazing down at the beauty of our coastlines, urging care for the environment every step of the way.

"Storm will rise from The Clyde and bring together a tide of people as she makes her way to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Where will you be when she passes? Gazing from a window, down at the waterside or walking alongside her on the street."
