Water supply to homes in Glasgow's south side has been disrupted because of a burst pipe.

Scottish Water first confirmed they were investigating the issue on Saturday, however hundreds of homes continue to endure supply issues, with several taking to social media to report low water pressure coming from their taps.

On Saturday, Scottish Water Tweeted to a resident in the G44 area (Cathcart, Muirend, Mount Florida, Croftfoot): "We are aware of issues with low pressure and no water to your area. Currently there are two engineers in the area trying to locate a burst water pipe which is causing the problems to the area."

Last night, after 10pm, with the issue still ongoing, Scottish Water advised: "Our leakage detection team are currently investigating the cause of this fault. Thanks for bearing with us whilst we investigate"

Meanwhile, south side residents took to social media in response to the disruption, with some saying yesterday (Sunday): "They had engineers out yesterday that I saw and apparently today again. It’s taking them a long time to find whatever it is for some reason!" and "It’s been low pressure since Friday, multiple vans have been out to check and they are coming back again tomorrow."
