A man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a police officer during an Irish Unity march and counter-protest.

The officer was injured during the incident, which happened in Glasgow city centre last week.

A pyrotechnic was thrown in Clyde Street, which resulted in the officer being injured.

A police spokesperson said: "A 32-year-old-man has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident in which a police officer was injured after being hit by a pyrotechnic thrown in Clyde Street, Glasgow."

The man will appear in court this week.
