The Ivy will finally open its doors on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street this summer - and we can’t wait to see it take shape.

The iconic restaurant - known in London as a celebrity haunt - has branches across the UK now. Glasgow Live first reported that the brasserie was eyeing up the old Nationwide bank building at 106 Buchanan Street back in 2017 - and last month, we guessed that The Ivy would be open for business very soon.

Today, the company revealed plans for a 222-cover restaurant in the city centre, as well as two onyx bars, a glamorous private dining space and Parisian-style outdoor seating for the summer months. Sold!

Baton Berisha, managing director at The Ivy Collection, said: “We are very excited to be opening our second Scottish restaurant this summer, bringing a touch of Ivy magic to Glasgow.

“We have a fantastic team in place and a beautiful building at 106 Buchanan Street. As well as breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests will also be able to pop in for cocktails at our first floor bar.”

DJs and musicians will be invited to play the upstairs bar so you can sip your cocktails to some entertainment, and the brasserie will cover everything from breakfast to afternoon tea, dinner and late night drinks.

A sneak preview at the menu shows standout dishes like lobster linguine, courtesy of head chef Brian Scanlan - and alongside the food will be a range of locally-inspired cocktails.

We’re keeping our eyes peeled for an opening date - then we’ll see you there, Glasgow!
