Following several days of wet and windy weather, there are five flood alerts in place for Gloucestershire.

One is for the River Severn between Tewkesbury and Gloucester, where the Environment Agency says people should be prepared because flooding is possible.

River levels are forecast to rise at the Upper Pound, Mythe Bridge and Haw Bridge river gauges as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.

Predicted peaks are Mythe 3.4m to 3.9m on Monday and Haw Bridge 4.3m to 4.8m on Tuesday.

An agency spokesman said: “We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation.
