This is the roll-on-the-floor-laughing moment an English teacher went on Radio 1 and did Sean Paul karaoke in a thick Gloucester accent.

Mikey Murphy-Miller, 36, appeared on Greg James' breakfast show yesterday in the 'Impossible Karaoke' challenge after texting in to say it should be renamed 'Impeccable Karaoke' because 'I'm that good'.

And he wasn't wrong - his hilarious rendition of the R&B star's hit Get Busy had listeners in stitches, and you can hear why from the whole exchange in the video above.

Mikey, who teaches at Gloucestershire College, said he was egged on by his partner, whose birthday it was, as they listened to the show in the car.

"I was just joking around and doing a stupid version of the song in the car and she told me I should go for it for real," he said.

"So I sent a text saying 'You should rename it Impeccable Karaoke when you hear me because I'm that good' and never expected to hear anything but they called me back and said 'go on then'."

After a couple of off-air rehearsals with the show's producers, Mikey decided on a hammed-up Gloucester accent for his big moment and the results speak for themselves.

"It was my partner's birthday but I was working late and couldn't really celebrate it with her - I just wanted a 'happy birthday' shoutout on the radio or something but this was so much better, she was in pieces," he said.

"It's a bit of an act really, I do stupid things a lot and always think 'why did I do that' afterwards, but I'm glad it's made people laugh."

One of his classes played the clip in college too.

"We didn't get much work done after that, they were in complete stitches," he said.

It's not the first time Mikey's rolled out the accent for some karaoke too - Whitney Houston's How Will I Know has had the same treatment, but that was just between friends.
