Grass fires have broken out on Leckhampton Hill with reports of numerous sightings.

Firefighters from across Gloucestershire are dealing with the blazes, which are in the Daisybank Road area.

First reports of the fires were made at about 2.30pm.

It is believed the cause fires is suspicious.

When did the fire start?

The spokesman said several members of the public reported the matter, with the first call being received by the fire service at 2.30pm.

More than a dozen firefighters fighting the blazes

Three fire engines - from Cheltenham and Gloucester - have been sent to the scenes.

A spokesman from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is now out.

They added that the cause of the fire is suspicious and an investigation is underway.

Two fires have been reported

A spokesman from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue said two fires were reported.

One was 229 square metres of gorse and bracken, the other was three times as big: 600 metres of gorse and bracken.
